Youth Employment Programme – Licence to Work
Locations: Wainuiomata and Taita
Duration: 14 Weeks – Semester Two Starts August 2020
Cost: FREE
Our programme enables us to place Rangatahi into work when once they complete and graduate. Developed by COMET, the Youth Employability Programme (YEP) LICENCE TO WORK provides activities to build these seven competencies employers say they want their workers to have:
- Positive Attitude
- Communication
- Teamwork
- Self-management
- Willingness to Learn
- Thinking skills (problem solving and decision making)
- Resilience
These learnings are then applied in Work Experience placements. Local businesses provide work experience where new skills are developed, teamwork can be practiced, and references are added to your cv.
In the programme, we provide:
- Learner Driver Licence
- CV and Cover Letter
- Interview practice and clothes
- First Aid Certificate
- Kai for breakfast and morning tea
You will receive on-going support for whatever you need from our team of Youth Advisors to ensure that you can succeed on this programme.

Certificates
We help you get your driver licence, your Health & Safety, Site Safe, and other certificates you need for employment.
